13 Ways Fix: Roku Remote Volume Not Working (2021).
13 Ways Fix: Roku Remote Volume Not Working (2021).
Are you facing the same problems as I faced earlier? Roku remote volume not working, in fact, this is very irritating and embracing. No matter how technology becomes advanced, it is nature’s law some hardware and software problems keep always coming into it. I had faced the same problems, one day I was watching a movie with my girlfriend “Ava” who lived in New York. We are sitting on the couch…

Obligatory Sunday rant, feel free to ignore.
I can't believe I'm stuck with this person for another year. I'm going crazy. I've been doing pretty much all the housework for weeks after what was actually a few pretty good months of her doing her share. I spent ten hours yesterday unpacking and organizing and cleaning while she was shopping with her family. Now I'm not angry that she's out having fun on a weekend as is her right but she was home pretty much all day every day this week and didn't do squat. I spent the hours this morning trying to figure out the washer and dryer only to realize I can't get it fixed and have about two clean outfits for this week.
She's been having issues with her tv. Some background: we have 3 tvs. One is mine from when I lived alone, and two are hers. She's always had one in the living room and one in her bedroom. When we moved in together we put her big one in the living room, she took her other one to her room, and mine went downstairs to use when we were in the basement.
Both of hers are smart tvs and have all her accounts built into them. We attached my Roku to the one in the living room so when she watched things she used the TV remote and her accounts and when I was watching things I used my Roku remote and my accounts. If we were watching things together we alternated between accounts. The downstairs one had its own separate Roku.
At the new place we were going to have the same set-up. Then her bedroom TV started giving her issues and she wanted to bring the living room TV into her room. I said that was fine and we could use mine in the living room. A little bit later I had the idea that she could use the downstairs one in her room instead, and sign into her accounts on its Roku, so we could keep the TV that had both of our accounts in the living room for both of us to use. She said she wasn't sure because she didn't have all her passwords, but she'd work on finding them.
Fast forward about a week to today. I'm tired. It's noon and I've been working on the washer and dryer since nine. She woke up at 10, saw me buzzing around, and went back to sleep, though we'd agreed to do our cleaning today.
She wakes up again, I fill her in on the appliance issue, and we agree to deal with it later and get started cleaning now. Before we start she asks if she can bring the downstairs TV to her room because hers isn't working. I said fine and went to go get it.
I brought it up, she thanked me, and said "I'm going to have to use your accounts for a while, until I find a new TV."
I said, "I'd rather you not."
She looked surprised and said that she let me use her accounts to watch things, and I pointed out that we did that when we were watching things together in the living room, and we used mine for that sometimes too, but I didn't want her to use mine by herself because they were mine and I didn't want her watching things on them and messing up my lists and queues.
She got all mad and said "then I want mine from the living room."
And like before I told her that that's fine.
Then she looks even more mad and says "But you told me not to before."
I told her I'd made the suggestion before but was okay doing it this way instead, and she went off on me about how we always had to do what I want and her ideas are never good enough for me.
I'm kind of flummoxed because I'd just told her she could have what she wanted so why was she still angry? We went back and forth about the difference between decisions and suggestions before she stalked off saying "I'm going into my room because I'm upset."
To be fair this is an improvement over the tantrums I've seen in the past.
Here's the thing. I rarely take her suggestions because she rarely has suggestions. I've been asking all week where she wants things in the house and she keeps saying she doesn't care. When she does have suggestions if I don't like it I'll offer an alternative but I don't say it has to be. I explain why it might be better but I leave it on the table for her to provide input. Sometimes she agrees and sometimes she doesn't and I've figured all this time it's been a back and forth but I guess she hasn't perceived it that way.
She does have anxiety so it might be hard to speak up, but I also have anxiety and I'm learning to cope with it. She's not. She's been in all these programs to manage it and learn coping skills but she doesn't use any of it or put actual work into her treatment. she just keeps waiting around for a med that's going to fix it all. When she doesn't do her share of work she blames the meds and says she'll be more helpful when she finds one that works. But at some point I don't think it's unreasonable for her to just bite the bullet and do the things she doesn't want to do because it's her house too and I'm not her mom.
And I really don't think it's that unreasonable for me not to want her to use my accounts. All she does all day is watch TV and I'm not really comfortable with her binge watching on all my accounts. It's one thing to password share, which we both do. But I feel like it's another thing to use someone else's profiles because you're too lazy to figure out your passwords.
(she doesn't have her passwords because none of the accounts she signs into are hers. She has profiles on her sister's accounts. She literally just needs to text her sister and ask for the password.)
Am I being unreasonable??? Why would a simple thing like that set her off? Why is it not okay for me to set that boundary?
We just fucking moved in but I also cannot wait until our lease is up so I can find a new place and live by myself again. This woman is driving me insane.

Yes, in the caves of Ba Sing Se, Katara shows Zuko a willingness to help him that he never expected from anyone (besides Iroh), least of all from the avatar’s angry, unyielding waterbending master, but that was not the first, last, or largest part of his face turn.
Zuko fixed himself for himself, okay? He also did it for his uncle, for his mom, for his great grandpa Roku, for the civilians, for justice, but never for Katara. If he changed only for Katara, Zutara couldn’t ever work. Because he wouldn’t be changing for the right reasons, and Katara would never be able to forgive him. To think she would is character assassination.
Zutara works because Zuko did the work himself and proved over and over again that this change was consistent. You think Katara, with how deeply traumatized she is, could be in a relationship with someone who feels unstable? Who she think might leave or betray her at any moment? You think Katara, as smart and moral as she is, would fall for someone who became good for the wrong reasons? You think she thinks that’s what goodness is?
In Southern Raiders, when Zuko goes out of his way to do something for Katara (help her find closure with her mom’s murderer), he is doing it because helping Katara and potentially murdering a genocidal soldier is the right thing to do. And then, when she doesn’t kill Yon Rha, but instead leaves him to wallow in his own misery, he accepts her decision, because her choice matters more than whatever his opinion on vengeance is.
Another writer might have their version of Zuko kill Yon Rha after Katara decides not to in some twisted “romantic” protective gesture, because they think they want a dark gritty dangerous bad boy, and they think that’s what Zuko is.
Other writers have their version of Katara actively trying to fix a willfully evil version of Zuko because they think Zutara has a good girl/bad boy, angel/devil dynamic when it doesn’t. They have their Katara stand-in thinking about the Zuko stand-in’s abs before he is ever remotely apologetic to her. That’s not how this works! That’s not how any of this works!
Zutara doesn’t work if Zuko had been out there murdering random people just because he’s ~grim~ and ~dangerous~. Not just the ship, but the whole fucking story doesn’t work if Zuko had showed up to the Gaang saying, “I’m sorry, but my dad made me do it. Murder is how I cope. I’m good now because love”.
It’s an egregious misunderstanding of both Zuko and Katara, and I’m so sick of seeing it.

Quarantine (Part 2) - Chris Evans Imagine
Summary: Chris notices there’s something wrong with Y/N when she comes home from work. When he looks at the calendar, he realizes it’s that time of the month. He decides to do everything and anything that will comfort her.
Word Count: 1,604
Warnings: FLUFF!!!!
Author’s Note: I hope y’all enjoy all the cuteness in this imagine!
[Part 1] [Chris Evans Master List]
Y/N turned off the car in Chris' two car garage. She grabbed her purse and grunted as she walked to the door that would lead to the washroom. She stripped her clothes and dumped them in the open washer. She had noticed Chris had already put in his clothes. She turned on the washer and put some laundry detergent before closing the washer. She grabbed the bottle of Lysol and sprayed the bottom of her shoes before slipping them into the shoe rack by the door. She sprayed the inside of her purse, her car keys, and her work lanyard with her ID. Placing the Lysol back in place, she grabbed a disinfectant wipe and wiped down her watch and phone. She mentally double checked everything off she was supposed to get rid of and disinfectant before entering Chris' house. Although it wasn't her house, it was a system they both came up with when they both returned to work still in the middle of a pandemic. She closed the washroom door behind her and made her way across the kitchen, where Chris was in his underwear fixing up dinner. His hair was wet and his chest was glistening with a thin layer of sweat. "I just got out of the shower and thought I would get started on dinner," he said as he turned on the stove. "Any special request?" "Whatever you want. I don't really care," she said slightly annoyed without looking at him. "I'm getting in the shower." Chris furrowed his eyebrows as he saw her walk away. Since their first sexual encounter a couple of months ago, the two couldn't keep their hands off each other, making up for lost time not having sex throughout the pandemic. They had become used to flirting and teasing. So, he was a bit surprised when she didn't even so much look at him half naked in the kitchen. He turned around to his fridge to get the chicken out, only to see the calendar right in front of him. He saw the date and immediately knew why she was annoyed today. "Good thing I went to the store today," he mumbled to himself as he decided to change the dinner menu to her favorite comfort food, Mac and Cheese. Back in her room, Y/N walked to her bathroom and saw the empty box of tampons on the countertop. She let out a frustrating groan knowing she forgot to go to the store after work to pick some up. She opened the cabinet underneath her sink for an overnight pad, thinking that'll have to do for the evening until she can go to the store tomorrow morning before work. She gasped as she saw two bulk boxes of tampons in two different sizes. She grabbed one of the boxes and opened it. She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to remember when she bought them. "Could he have?" She whispered to herself. "No," she shook the silly idea out of her head. She quickly got in the shower and let the warm water relax her muscles. A few minutes later, she dried herself and got dressed. She walked to the kitchen to see Chris dressed in sweats and a long sleeve. "Perfect timing!" He beamed. "The Mac and Cheese is ready. I went to the store earlier today and also got you a few things-" "Like tampons?" She asked, now that he mentioned he did go shopping. "Yes. I wasn't sure on the sizes, so I got you both. I hope that's okay," he looked at her, scanning for any facial expression that might say he screwed up. She nodded with a small smile, "both sizes are fine. As Amy Schumer says, 'your flow changes and so should the size of your Tampax!'" They both laughed as they had seen that commercial a million times while staying home. "And to think, I was so close to book that commercial. They said I was great, but didn't quite fit the character they were looking for," he joked. Y/N chuckled. "In all seriousness though, thank you," She said sincerely. "You're very welcome. I was a little nervous I might have bought the wrong ones. Glad to know I didn't," he smiled back at her. "Anyways, I also got a box of your favorite candies. The popcorn is in the microwave as we speak. I figured we would watch a Disney movie and eat dinner in the living room tonight." Y/N eyes welled up at the sweet gesture he had done for her. "How did you know?" "Well," he walked towards her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "We've been quarantining together for almost the entire year. I think I've picked up on certain things. Like when Aunt Flo comes to visit and what comfort foods you like when she's in town for her monthly visit." Chris pulled her in for a hug as he noticed more tears filled her eyes. "What's wrong? Did I do something wrong? Did I miss something?" "No," she mumbled against his chest, hugging him back. "It's perfect. These are happy tears." Chris let out a soft chuckle before he kissed her forehead. "Did you really just say Aunt Flo?" Y/N pulled back. Chris let out a hearty laugh, rolling his head back. "Yes, clearly I regret it now. Let's eat." Chris grabbed their bowls of Mac and Cheese while Y/N grabbed two water bottles from the fridge. Chris gave her the Roku remote, letting her decide which Disney movie she wanted to watch on Disney+ as he went back to get the candies and popcorn. They both sat cross legged on the couch and ate their Mac and Cheese as Oliver and Company started playing. Once they finished their dinner, they munched on popcorn and chocolates. Halfway through the movie, Y/N turned around and faced Chris. "Can I ask for a small favor?" "Anything," he said, his eyes still on the movie. "Can we cuddle?" Chris' head turned to her, double checking if he heard right. "I know it's a silly question, but I'm just in a mood for some cuddling. If you don't want to, I can ask Dodger." Chris' lips formed a small, sincere smile as he repositioned himself. Y/N got up as Chris laid down. She hoovered over him before she fit herself between him and the couch. Chris wrapped his arms around her after Y/N pulled a blanket over them. "Is this okay?" He asked. She snuggled closer to him, resting her cheek on his chest. "Better than okay," she mumbled. "Thanks." "Anytime," he kissed the top of her head. Chris' phone rang on top of the coffee table. He grabbed it and saw his brother's picture on the screen. It was an incoming FaceTime from Scott. Y/N saw it and said he should take the call as she paused the movie. "Sup bro?" Scott immediately asked once Chris accepted the call. "Watching a movie," Chris kind of held the phone at an angle to where Scott couldn't see he was cuddling with Y/N. "What? No hot sexy date with your girlfriend?" "Scott-" Chris started but couldn't get a word in as Scott continued. "I'm surprised. It seems like you're always busy with her almost every night. Although if you say she's the best you've ever had, maybe I can see why you never answer when we call you in the evenings-" "For the love of God, Scott, shut up!" Chris' cheeks grew hot as small beads of sweat started forming on his forehead. "What?" He asked, confused. Chris sighed as he moved the phone for Scott to see. Y/N smiled widely as she rested her chin on Chris' chest. She gave Scott a small wave. "Shit," Scott mumbled to himself, realizing he let a secret out as he saw Y/N was with Chris. "Ok, I'm gonna go hide because I feel like Chris is gonna go on a man hunt for me. Bye!" Chris groaned as he dropped his phone on the rug, unable to look at Y/N. She smiled as she trailed two fingers up his chest, "I have two questions for you. One: why does your brother think I'm your girlfriend?" "Because I may or may not have mentioned you..." he trailed before his lips formed a smile that gave away his lie. "Okay, maybe all the time." "Uh, interesting," she nodded, his smile made her smile as well. "And, two..." she cupped Chris' cheek and moved him to face her. She looked deep into his ocean blue eyes and whispered, "Am I really the best you've ever had?" Chris swallowed hard, his Adam's Apple bobbing up and down slowly, before he nodded once. "I know it was only supposed to be a friends with benefits kind of thing, but I don't know. I kind of caught feelings in the midst of things." She stood on her hands and leaned down to kiss him. Chris was taken back but quickly kissed her back. His hand slid to the back of her neck as she slowly lowered herself on top of him. The kiss was sweet and tender, perfect for their first real kiss. She cupped his cheek as the kiss deepened, ignoring the tickling sensation his beard gave her palm. Her toes curled as Chris ignited the buttleries in the pit of her stomach. Chirs slowly pulled back and pecked her lips once more before she rested her forehead against his. Their chest heaved against each others' as they tried to catch their breath. "Not that I didn't like it, because I loved it, but what was that for?" Chris whispered against her lips. She smiled at him as her thumb traced his cheekbone. "Because somewhere along the way, I also caught feelings for my boyfriend." Chris chuckled before he leaned in and kissed her once more.

Happy Zutara Week! Unspoken - Day 1: Reunion
Here goes my work for Day 1! It is also posted on my AO3. Enjoy! @zutaraweek
Title: Unspoken
Rating: G
Summary: It’s been two years since the last time Katara has seen Zuko, who could somehow be described as ‘the one that got away’. Well, they had both gotten away. Unfortunately. But the annual Ba Sing Se High Reunion brings their paths together once again. Katara’s running late to the ceremony, her friends are nowhere to be found, and Zuko seems determined to keep her from figuring out where the gang’s sitting.
-----
Katara sprinted into the auditorium’s room. Being late had never been her style. Or at least that’s what she liked to think. She couldn’t miss the Reunion Ceremony, a former valedictorian would never do such thing.
Just in time. The doors were about to close. She managed to grab a seat right in the back of the section where her group was supposed to be. Great, the headmaster was probably about to start his usual speech. And she couldn’t find her friends with the lights dimming even more with each passing second.
She took a seat in the back, still trying to catch a glimpse of them. Checking her phone to see if they had texted her which seat row to head over to, she felt the urge to curse out loud. None of her messages to the group chat had been sent. The cell reception was absolute hell in there. Nothing ever changed at Ba Sing Se High, huh?
Just as she was about to get back up, she saw him. Right in the seat in front of her. She would have recognized that black hair anywhere. Why was he even there? She didn’t recall him attending last year’s ceremony. In fact, she was sure he hadn’t. Not him or any of his friends. But now they were all there. Sitting just one seat row ahead of her.
She felt her heart skipping a beat. Two years. It had almost been two years since the last time she had looked into his eyes. Back at her high school graduation, which he had attended because of his own sister. On that occasion, they had been apart for a long time as well since he was a year older, just like her brother. She hadn’t seen his face ever since that bittersweet day. Well, aside from social media at least. Those annoyingly cute pictures he’d post showcasing his most recent adventures had a habit of catching her attention. All the Instagram Stories with photos of the moonlight accompanied by some melancholic song. More than one of those had stolen her breath away just from checking out the lyrics and wondering if somehow they were meant to be for her. After all, music had always been their thing.
Shaking her head, she reminded herself to look for her group. She wasn’t about to sit throughout this whole ordeal alone. The fun of it resided in being with her friends. Maybe Zuko and his group had seen them. Hell no , no way was she talking to him. What if she made a fool of herself? What if he thought it was all an excuse to interact with him again? The simple idea caused her heart to furiously pound inside her chest. But maybe one of his friends would be easier to talk to. After all, she had actually been classmates with them.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, she decided to just go for it. The speech was about to start and her chances of switching seats were slimming by the minute.
“Um, Ty Lee,” Katara said as she tapped her shoulder. “Hi! Sorry to bother you.”
“Katara? Oh, Spirits, I haven’t seen you in ages!” The girl had a bright smile on her face as she turned around. “How are you?”
Ty Lee had always been the nicest one of his friends, with her playful stares and bubbly attitude. Katara remembered all those times when the girl had made puckish remarks about her intricate relationship with Zuko. She had always known there was something there. And she had never been one to ignore that kind of buzz.
“I’m good, thanks,” she replied, a strain of nervousness visible in her voice. “What about you?”
The sound of a new voice made her flinch on her seat.
“Sh! Katara, already making a fuss? Headmaster Roku is trying to start his speech.”
Azula. The least friendly of them all. Zuko’s little sister and her former classmate. Probably one of the reasons that contributed to things between her and Zuko never quite taking off.
“Kat is just being nice, Azula. And this kind of ceremonies never start in time,” Ty Lee said, brushing her off. “I’m great, Kat, thanks. So, what’s up?”
At that moment, someone else turned around. Zuko. Of course, he wouldn’t miss the opportunity to make a jittery mess out of her. His golden eyes felt like daggers sinking down into hers. He looked the same, messy hair, piercing glance, and the unmistakable scar on his face. He stayed quiet. She couldn’t believe he was there , looking at her after so long. Should she smile? Maybe nod at him? How was she supposed to act in front of someone that meant everything to her when technically nothing had ever happened between them?
Silence. No words had come out of her mouth yet. She hadn’t answered Ty Lee nor said anything to Zuko or Azula.
“Why are you three morons turned around?” Mai tilted her head from her seat next to Azula. “Oh. Katara. Nice to see you.”
Perfect. The last thing she needed was for Mai to notice her there. Katara felt her blood practically boiling at the memory of all those times she had believed her and Zuko were together. She had even started seeing someone else in an attempt to get over it, failing spectacularly. Now she knew the truth. But the timing had been too much of a mess for her to do something about it.
“Um, I just wanted to ask Ty Lee if she had seen Suki or anyone from the gang,” she managed to say.
“You mean your insanely loud friends? Nope, sorry, haven’t seen them,” Azula said with a smirk. “Come on, Mai, let’s turn around before the headmaster starts speaking.”
Both girls straightened in their seats, leaving just Zuko and Ty Lee facing her. Before she could say anything, she noticed Zuko whispering something to his friend. Ty Lee smiled as she listened, her eyes widening into a mischievous expression. After he was done talking, the two of them looked at her.
“So, this crazy dummy sitting next to me says he saw your friends getting into the auditorium,” Ty Lee explained.
“So?” She looked at him. “Tell me.”
Zuko simply shook his head in denial, a cryptic yet tender smile framing his face.
“Thing is,” Ty Lee said with a grin. “He says he won’t tell you just yet.”
Oh Agni, not his charades again. The entire history between them seemed like a gigantic puzzle she had never been able to fix. All the pieces always appeared missing. If only she could read into his mind once and for all. What kind of twisted joke was this?
“What? Why?” She was still looking at him, despite his prompted silence. “Why can’t he speak for himself? Has the cat got his tongue?”
“Kat, you know us. We’re just having a little fun”
“In the middle of the Reunion Ceremony?”
“Um, yeah?” Ty Lee laughed. “Are you going to let me tell you how to get to your friends?”
“ Fine. Go ahead, just hurry up.” She let out a sigh. “What is it?”
Katara observed as Zuko nodded at Ty Lee, a playful smirk tattooed on his face as he whispered some new information to her.
“Great! Okay, Kat, you listen carefully alright?” Ty Lee was looking at her straight in the eye now. “Thoughts read unspoken, forever in doubt. And pieces of memories fall to the ground.”
What on earth? What was she on? Katara was getting impatient. Still, something about those words resonated inside her mind.
“So now what?” she eventually asked.
Zuko and Ty Lee exchanged a suspicious stare.
“Mister Sparky here told me you would know what to do,” the girl replied. “I’ll repeat it one more time: Thoughts read unspoken, forever in doubt. And pieces of memories fall to the ground.”
Wait a minute. It finally hit her. Those were song lyrics. And not any random ones, they were the lyrics from their song. She felt her heart racing on her chest. He remembered. Two years later and he still recalled their song. Did that mean…? Maybe she hadn’t been the only one still thinking about their time together. Perhaps he still felt something for her too. Well, that was if he had ever felt something for her. They had to stop going in circles.
“I know what I did, and so I won’t let this go. ‘Cause it’s true, I am nothing without you.” Her voice was trembling. “All the streets, where I walked alone with nowhere to go, have come to an end.”
Agni, if she had gotten it wrong this was ought to be the most awkward moment of her entire life. All those years and he still had the ability to steal her breath away with any remotely romantic gesture.
Zuko had grin on her face. His eyes were glowing with something Katara wasn’t quite able to put into words.
Ty Lee started to clap, earning herself a few deadly glances before toning it down. “You know what? I think I’m just going to turn around. I’ll let Zuko do the talking now.”
Katara watched as the girl went back to facing the stand, Azula and Mai quickly motioning to her to tell them what happened.
She was left sitting there, trying to understand why Zuko would get her to play that little game. After so many years of going back and forth with their feelings for each other, he had chosen the strangest moment to make a move. And what a weird move had it been. Considering everything they had gone through together, she still felt in the dark about his true feelings for her. There had been too much hesitation, too much turmoil between them. But a part of her knew that their connection was real. Real and still strong.
“I knew you wouldn’t forget ‘With Me’. ” Zuko’s voice snapped her out of the overthinking mess she had gotten herself into.
He was looking straight into her eyes, a tender smile spread across his face. Everything about his expression was utterly sweet.
“I - Um, I… You remember our song?” Her heart was about to explode.
“Katara,” he said, extending his arm to softly tug one rebellious hair of hers behind her ear. “I remember everything about us . ”
“But - but we haven’t talked in months! The last time you saw me I was still fooling around with Jet and -“
“And we can both explain ourselves once the ceremony is over,” he interrupted her. “Your friends are on the second row to the left, Suki was looking for you earlier. You should hurry. I promise I’m not going anywhere.”
The headmaster had already started talking.
“Dear Ba Sing Se High alumnae, it’s a pleasure to welcome all of you back for the annual Reunion Ceremony. Please go to your seats and mute your phones before we start.”
Katara was running out of time.
“ Fine, Zuko,” she whispered. “Thank you.”
With a soft smile, she stood up, trying to be as sneaky as humanly possible. Her eyes stayed locked into his for an extra second. A million things seemed to be said with that simple stare. They both seemed to know what saying the lyrics from ‘With Me’ meant. Their connection was still there. In fact, it had never faded away.
Once she was finally sitting down next to her friends and had briefly greeted them, she took a moment to breathe. What the hell had just happened? Had Zuko somehow admitted he still had feelings for her? Perhaps she was reading a little too much into it. Still, he had told her he remembered everything that had ever happened between them. And the song lyrics… ‘With Me’ was their song. She still had it on her playlist, although she usually avoided it. It brought back too many memories. But maybe it was time for those emotions to come back to light. After all, she had never stopped missing him.
“Girl,” Suki, her best friend, whispered. “What happened to you? You’re so late.”
“Zuko’s here. I just talked to him.” Katara tried to keep it low, the headmaster had already started his speech.
“What? Spill it. Did he approach you?”
“Um, not exactly. He told me where you guys were sitting,” she replied before making a small pause. “Actually, he mentioned the lyrics from ‘With Me’.”
“No way!” Suki’s eyes widened. “I told you he’s still in love with you. We all told you so.”
“Hey, Kat,” her brother interrupted them. “Why didn’t you respond to any of my texts?”
“Sokka, you know the reception is garbage here,” she replied, rolling her eyes.
“Sist, you’re stuck in the past, there’s a new Wifi net. Give Aang your phone, he’ll connect you in a sec.”
Her brother was right, she passed the phone to her friend and in less than a minute her internet was up and running. Unfortunately, she had forgotten to put the device on silent mode. A stream of notifications invaded her screen, making a pretty loud and continuous ‘ting!’
“Shut that down, Sugar Queen!” Toph shushed her from a couple of seats away.
“Alright, alright,” she complied. “I’m on it.”
As Katara hurried to mute the volume, a particular notification popped on the screen, catching her attention. When she read it, her heart seemed to skip more than one beat.
Zuko Sozin > I know it was stupid but I had to see if you remembered our song. Now that I know (think?) you feel the same way, I’m not about to waste any more chances.
As she showed the text to Suki, both of them containing the urge to scream in astonishment, another buzz indicated she had a new message.
Zuko Sozin > You’re staying for the reception, right? I’ll be waiting for you at the entrance of the auditorium. Kat, there’s so much I’ve been dying to say to you. Alright, see you after this snore-fest is over.
Katara quickly put away the phone, her pulse racing as she tried to make some sense out of that whole ordeal. She could answer him once headmaster Roku was done talking. She had no clue of what to reply yet, anyways.
Two years later, and Zuko had crazily admitted he still had feelings for her. Even more, he wanted to sort things out between them. Maybe their story hadn’t come to an end yet. After years of missing each other, it seemed like their time had finally come.
Who knew being late to the High School Reunion Ceremony would be the best thing that could happen to her?
---- The song mentioned is "With Me" by Sum 41, one that will forever hold a special place in my heart. It really is a great song, my recommendation is for you to go listen it! ;) I do not own any of the rights to this song nor intend to profit out of my use of it on this work. Thank you so much for reading!

I used to be a pretty tech-savvy person, and then a decade ago I took up with a man who is VERY techy and he made our home very techy. Universal remotes. Voice-controlled lights.
There’s a TV in the bedroom. I can’t turn it on. I don’t know which button on the remote is the right one to turn on the TV and the Roku—he’s told me several times but I can’t remember.
If something goes wrong with the TV in the living room, I can’t fix it because chances are I don’t even know where the actual TV remote is, much less what the settings are supposed to be.
Here’s how bad it is: We have a 4k smart TV but for a long time, there wasn’t enough content available in the 4k HD so we just used the Apple TV. Well, now there’s plenty of stuff in 4k, so my husband recently got around to installing all the apps we use to consume media onto the TV itself, and so that is where he watches our YouTube TV, and Netflix, and Hulu, and Disney+, and Movies Anywhere.... and then he goes to bed and the first thing I do is switch back to the AppleTV bc the controls are slightly different on the universal remote for the TV itself and my brain just... doesn’t... Like... “you mean I have to hit Exit in instead of Menu to go back? My muscle memory doth refuse.”
When did I become the girl who can’t work the electronics??? lol

Some Solarpunk wins from the last few weeks
Boyfriend managed to get the TV working (the one we found at the dumpster I mentioned in previous posts. It’s actually a Roku Smart TV.) It took $30 total to fix it between the motherboard and a new remote. We’re looking at selling our old tv for at least that much to reimburse what we paid to fix the smart TV. We’re both pretty happy with that.
Took some advice and went early in the morning to the thrift store. I really needed some new clothes since school is around the corner. Found two skirts and a pair of black ankle boots for when the weather gets cold. Honestly if you need cold weather clothes the best time to hit up the thrift stores in now! The shop I went to had more boots, flannels and sweaters than they knew what to do with. I got all three items for $28 dollars.
I am now a proud library card holder. In the four years I’ve been attending university I never bothered to get a library card but I’m so glad I went. The amenities and selection at the county I now live in is amazing.
I was perusing Facebook and found a local organization that is trying to get the city to go low waste. I’m not sure how I will attend meetings since I don’t have my own car, but they’re into events like clothes swaps and doing repair events at the library. I think they’re also trying to get a repair cafe open somewhere in town.
The capital of the state I live in is expanding it’s solar panel farm. I don’t know a lot of details yet, but I am excited that people in my area are finally taking these steps to green renewable energy without needing much incentive from the government, or worse, being told to keep using coal or oil, which is a popular opinion where I am. It is exciting for me since my boyfriend and I are considering moving to our capital city.
Just thought I would share the good news because progress has been feeling slow lately. If you feel the same way I do, just keep in mind things could be happening under your nose and you don’t even know it yet. Hang in there and resist.

Initial Reactions to YouTube TV: The Best Replacement for Cable TV
But First, Some Back Story
I’ve been a Sling subscriber on and off since 2016. I joined for the price mostly, as the no-contract, and no-haggling $30 price was hard to beat compared to Time Warner Cable. At the time, Sling was just about the only game in town offering an alternative to traditional cable and satellite. Sure, you don’t get locals, but an antenna works just fine, and even has better audio/video quality than cable, so I could deal with that to receive cable channels.
I like to think of Sling as a no-frills service. It works well enough, but there are some quirks to get used to coming from traditional cable. The biggest one for sure is its DVR. At the time, the only way to get DVR was to pay an extra $5 a month for 50 hours of storage that never deletes unless it needs to for space. Now DVR is included with less space for free, and you pay if you want more space. Fine, however not all channels include rewinding and pausing live TV. Even worse, when you’ve rewound a live program and a commercial happens, you’re stuck in that commercial without the ability to fast forward; A major inconvenience coming from a traditional DVR. Luckily with DVR playback, you can fast forward through commercials, but that doesn’t inspire confidence to those not used to the service.
I like having the Viacom channels in my lineup, so that limits my search for alternative cable services. I have used AT&T TV Now, Philo, and Spectrum’s streaming service, and have a few issues with them. Spectrum’s service lacks the DVR feature, at least it did when I was using it, so that’s out, not to mention their deceptive pricing which increases after a year. Philo is nice because it allows for starting over any show, meaning you can pause and rewind at any point and record as much as you want, and while the price is nice, the lineup is too thin for my liking. AT&T TV Now offers no pausing of live TV, so I passed on that (not to mention AT&T sucks). Which leaves out Hulu with Live and YouTube TV because they didn’t have the Viacom channels.
And Now, Let’s Talk About YouTube TV
Since the introduction of YouTube TV, Viacom’s channels were from the service, at least that was until a few days ago when Viacom announced they had reached a deal with Google to add them “in the summer,” whenever that is, but that’s good enough for me. After reading this, I immediately started a free trial because I have heard nothing but great things about the service, and I could easily see why.
First let’s talk about the local channels. Sling in my area offers zero local channels, which is pain. It either means I need to buy an AirTV box to get locals to integrate into the Sling guide with an antenna, or I need to keep locals separate in another TV input or service. Using another service or input simply means that local channels and cable channels exist in two different universes, and that is not convenient or easy to explain to anyone trying to watch TV. So when I bought the AirTV, I was disappointed to find that the audio/video quality of the stream is not on par with the Sling cable channels. It’s horribly compressed, especially considering how good it can look compared to just plugging in the antenna into the TV. Also, the tuner is extremely sensitive: things that came in through the TV’s tuner wouldn’t come in on the AirTV, or would have issues coming in that were otherwise strong, and even with both my Roku and AirTV connected through Ethernet, lag was a near 100% chance of occurring. Simply put, having locals just there on the YouTube TV guide without me needing to troubleshoot anything was a breath of fresh air. No fiddling with the rabbit ears, no frustration with lag, it just works, and it works well.
The second breath of fresh air came with the DVR. As I said above, Sling’s DVR forces you to think about how to use it. You can’t pause live TV and fast forward through commercials, if the channel you’re on even allows for pausing live TV, which most don’t (except for seemingly only the Viacom channels coincidentally). You also can’t pause and rewind live TV with the AirTV, a device you have to pay $99 for, excluding the price of an external hard drive, something the rest of competition allows for. This is not an issue with YouTube TV. Just pause the show, any show, and it behaves like a traditional DVR. A DVR with unlimited storage where the only limit being recordings expire after 9 months, which doesn’t concern me. There are so many things that just work, I sometimes forget that I can just use the service and not think about it.
Other nice features of YouTube TV that may not be unique, but are upgrades coming from Sling are customizable profiles where each user gets their own DVR, recommendations, and can remove channels from their guide and even adjust the order of the channels. Plus, Sling feels outdated compared to YouTube TV. Sling has essentially kept the same UI since I started using it in 2016. Sure, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, but certainly a fresh coat of paint wouldn’t hurt, and YouTube TV feels very fresh.
There are a few things I would change. One being the addition of a “jump to live” button. I’m used to just pressing the OK button to see information about what I’m watching, but this pauses the show. This makes sense with a platform like Android TV where there is no pause button, but there is pause button on a Roku remote, so this behavior is jarring, and causes a disruption in what I’m watching. I’m sure on shows and movies, most people don’t care about fast-forwarding to live to not miss anything, but with sports or something else where you want to skip ahead quickly, it would be nice for that to be a button. I’d also like to see the current time in the guide and in the info panel while watching content.
In conclusion
Really, those are my only few gripes. YouTube TV is fantastic. The best thing you can say about it is anyone coming from traditional TV will feel right at home. Sling certainly gets points for being the first service to bring cable TV over-the-top, but you can’t remain number one if you don’t evolve. Sling simply is cheaper and offers the most a-la-carte cable service you can get. At $30, if you don’t watch many channels, the base package is fine. However, to get Sling at the same number of channels as YouTube TV, you’re spending the same amount of money. YouTube TV is a far cleaner and easier service, which gives you locals channels, and less to fuss with. It’s really good, and when the Viacom channels come to the service, I’ll be even happier.

How You Can Fix Roku Blinking White Light

Streaming devices have become an essential part of our entertainment setup and Roku offers a range of streaming devices to enhance our TV viewing experience. Roku devices may occasionally encounter issues. One common problem that users may come across is the Roku blinking white light issue.
Causes For Blinking White Light
The Roku streaming stick and other Roku streaming players (Roku Express, Roku Express 4K, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, Roku Ultra, and Roku Streambar) all use their flashing white lights to indicate a range of problems. A white blinking light points to the following issues: Connectivity issue with your home WiFi Broken or Loose HDMI cable. Hardware issues in your device Outdated software Issues in Power cord/ Power switch box SAMSUNG 65-Inch Crystal 4K 3 HDMI Ports, Motion Xcelerator

How To Fix Roku Blinking White Light
Reboot Your Roku To begin, make sure you are on the Home screen of your Roku device. Hold the remote control in your hand, and let's get started. Follow these steps carefully: Press the up button on your remote control. This will navigate you to the setting options. Once you have reached the setting options, press the right button on your remote control to enter the settings menu. Within the settings menu, press the up button again to access the System option.

Moving forward, press the right button to navigate to the menu. Now, press the down button repeatedly until you find the "System Restart" option. Once you have highlighted the "Restart" option, press the OK button on your remote control.

By following these simple steps, your Roku device will initiate the restart process. Allow the device a few moments to complete the restart. Recommended: Can you use Amazon Firestick on Roku TV Check All Your Cords and Cables Inspect your Roku device and locate the HDMI cable ports. Remove the HDMI cable and examine if there is an extension attached, as these extensions often malfunction. Issues with the HDMI cables may cause problems with Toshiba TV. Replace the extension or try connecting the device directly to the TV. Additionally, I consider replacing the HDMI cable with a new one, as they can break internally even without physical movement. Make sure that there are no loose cable connections. We also use a streaming device that gets loose over time. So, check the connection points of these cables as well. I also suggest you connect the HDMI cable to a different HDMI port on the back of your TV.

Check Network Settings Firstly, check if the WIFI is turned on. To do this, go to the settings option on your TV remote and click on the last option, which is the ‘settings’ option. After that, go to the ‘network’ option and then to the ‘WIFI connection.’ If the connection is not available, then you will see a message indicating the issue. After analyzing the issue, I found that this is not just a setting problem, but it is a technical problem with the WIFI chip. Restart Wifi Router You must restart your network router and check that there is no problem with your router. Because sometimes there may arise problems with your router and your TV is working fine. First, turn off your router from the power socket. Now, wait for a few seconds before you plug back your router. Now, you can restart your network router. Check if your LG TV is able to recognize Wifi connection.

Interference in WiFi Connection Sometimes, there is interference from the outside environment which creates issues in the performance of the wireless signals. You must need to check the objects causing the issue. Your Roku TV or device may get distracted by Infrared Interference which is used by other devices like Televisions, Microwave Ovens, and Radios. This is not a usual problem but you may encounter it if you don’t properly place these kinds of devices. Recommended: Can You Use Roku And Firestick On Same TV Adjust Display Resolution of Your Roku Accessing the Settings Menu First, navigate to the left side of your Roku remote and press the left arrow button. This action will open a menu with various options. Scroll all the way down until you reach the "Settings" option. Select it by pressing the OK button on your remote. Adjusting the Display Type Once you're in the Settings menu, continue scrolling down until you locate the "Display Type" setting. Press OK to access this option. Automatic Resolution Detection By default, the Roku is set to "Auto" in terms of resolution detection. This means that it will automatically detect the best resolution based on your TV's capabilities. Sometimes, Roku already detects correct resolution according to my experience, you can proceed to Step 4. However, if you believe that the detected resolution is incorrect, follow the next step to manually change it. Manually Changing the Resolution Suppose you want to manually adjust the resolution to ensure optimal performance. Select the desired resolution from the available options. For instance, if your TV supports full 4K HDR at 60 frames per second, choose "Full 4K HDR 60." After selecting the desired resolution, Roku will verify if it matches your TV's capabilities. If it does, you're all set. However, if the chosen resolution exceeds what your TV can handle, an "X" symbol will appear. In this case, proceed to Step 5 to force the output. Forcing the Output Resolution If the chosen resolution exceeds your TV's capabilities but you believe it can handle higher specifications, you can force the output resolution. Simply select the option to force the resolution and press OK. This will override the automatic detection and apply your preferred resolution settings. Reverting to Automatic Mode If at any point you're not satisfied with the changes you've made, you can easily revert to the automatic resolution detection. Access the Settings menu again and scroll down to "Display Type." Select this option and set it back to "Auto." Confirm your selection and your Roku will return to automatically detecting the optimal resolution. Factory Reset Your Roku - Navigate to the Settings menu on your Roku TV. Locate the settings icon and select it to proceed. - Scroll down and find the "System" option and access the Advanced System Settings. - Look for the "Factory Reset" setting and click on it. - Now, you will be presented with two choices: resetting audio and picture settings or resetting everything. To completely restore your Roku TV to its original factory state, choose the "Reset Everything" option. - To ensure that you genuinely want to reset your Roku TV, a confirmation code is required. The code for this specific reset is 3262. Type in the code using your remote control or TV interface. - Proceed by selecting "OK" A final confirmation message will appear on the screen, informing you about the consequences of the factory reset. - Select "Yes" to confirm. Your TV will then restart, initiating the factory reset procedure. During this process, all accounts, settings, and installed apps will be erased. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjTm_hOn9RI Enjoy Reading Too: How to Watch Roku Channel on LG Smart TV TCL Roku TV Screen Mirroring Not Working Contact Roku Support If you require direct assistance from Roku Support, you can reach out to them via phone or email.
